Why did Anet remove the gladiator arena? Is it ever coming back? If yes,when?

I doubt we'll see it anytime soon, perhaps in another chapter. I recall Gaile answering this on one occaision.

Gladiator Arena was a location on the dev server. It somehow found its way onto maps shown at events and in the manual. It has never existed on the real server.
